Part IV: Human Trafficking Victim in Malaysia
At 4am of March 11, I, with my mom and auntie, were already at the OWWA Office in Pasay. An hour later, with Mr. Jun Vasquez, an OWWA Officer, we headed on to the airport to pick Lovely up. With all the formalities at the Immigration counter, having only temporary travel documents, it took her an hour to come out.
We headed back to the OWWA Office to meet Blas Ople’s Liaison Officer after that and waited for our meeting with Usec Toot’s Ople.
Lovely, with Usec Toots as she personally told her the whole story, from how she was recruited.

Lovely, now an officially ex-OFW, all smiles with two thumbs up even after what she had gone through. Please excuse me for not going in detailed about her “pagtakas” for personal and security purposes.

A photo opp with Usec Toots Ople before we headed back home, with peace of mind that we have lost in the past days.

Kudos to Usec Toots Ople and her team. More power to Bantay OFW! What do we do without you and your team knowing how our Embassies work and respond to our fellow OFWs needs? All I could say is goodluck!

as usual, government people are always in the bad light after doing what they ought to do “kahit walang camera (or radio fanfare)”
