Ex-OFW for 4 years now

It’s been 4 years since my eldest daughter and I moved back home. It’s also been 4 years since the day I left Bahrain and the job that I had for 10 years. 4 years of living and working miles away from my husband had gone too fast, and am glad we survived!

Many things changed for the better. Along with those changes were challenges encountered. The challenges of being a working mom and life of a single parent. Nope, we’re not legally separated nor annulled but our long distance relationship makes me one of those single parents.

I’d say I’m having a better life here with my 2 daughters now than what I had in the Middle East. It may be incomplete without my husband but I always believe that the best life that anyone could have is not just by getting everything that you want. In short, you cannot have everything at the same time. Life is better with sacrifices after all. And it will be at its best when you proudly surpassed all the challenges that came your way.
